Law 12 Final Presentations / conferences

Hi everyone,

So far only a few of you have been in for your conferences and presentations although many of you are coming in tomorrow.  I have a few gr 8s in the morning and after that time is reserved for Law 12 students.  If you are coming in on Friday - I will have a Humanities Dept meeting from 9-10 am and will not be available.

What to bring:

  • evidence of process (how did you get from your topic/ question or fairy tale to your finished closing argument or speech)
  • review the rubrics on the blog (some of you had forgotten about some things that you might need to address
    • Criminal cases - you need to address the actus reus and mens rea arguments and back it up with the physical evidence and the testimony that introduced it during the "trial."  Then make sure you are countering a legal defense and the testimony / evidence defense counsel would have presented.
    • Civil cases - very similar in that you need to prove the tort/contract cases and counter the appropriate defense.
    • For family / social issues - remember to bring an organizer/ notes and evidence of your process and research that allowed you to answer your question.
So far presentations have been great!

Don't forget to drop your law text book off too - $70 +

Remaining appts:  They usually take about 10-15 min.
