Good afternoon,

Reminders:  Tuesday 

1. You have a sentencing quiz which will have questions connected to the videos as well as the  chapter on sentencing.  
2. Your sentencing mini- cases will be handed in.

For Monday: today you will be reviewing the court system in more detail before we begin civil law

To do so, you will watch a series of videos (ranging from 2:40 to about 16 min in length) and they cover all aspects of our BC system (your text often uses more Ontario examples).

While watching make your own notes on:

1. Purpose / types of cases
2. Key features of the court (eg. - judges role, jurors?, robes? significance of symbolism?...)  Especially features that help you distinguish between the varied courts - eg. Provincial courts have brown carpets and Supreme courts have red carpets.
3. Procedures

You will use these later this week - for quiz or in-class assignment (I have not decided yet)
